A Panorex is a technologically-advanced component of imaging machinery that it is capable of identifying many issues and structures in ways that a normal x-ray is not able to do. Your child will sit in a chair and place their chin on a small ledge. Once they’re comfortably positioned in the machine, the Panorex will rotate around their entire head, taking a full 360-degree view of the teeth, head, sinuses and bones as it does so. The Panorex’s ability to view the full structure of your child’s head as a whole provides excellent information for the dentist. By doing so, it will allow us to see any potential problems that may be present, and it will help to make sure that everything is functioning as it should be. The Panorex takes a unique look at your child’s oral health, and can identify structural problems, infections, asymmetry, and other issues that may be present.

Since digital x-rays are significantly more sensitive to radiation than standard x-rays, it is also better for your child, as it provides 80% less radiation than a standard x-ray.
Digital cephalometry is a type of imaging or radiography that is an extremely valuable diagnosing and planning tool for treatment and evaluation in orthodontics and dental surgery. Digital cephalometry uses computer software to allow orthodontists and oral surgeons to analyze cephalometric radiographs and create progress superimpositions quickly and accurately. These computer programs dramatically reduce the tedious job of cephalometric tracing.
Basically, digital cephalometry gives your practitioner the ability to superimpose images of your child’s jaw and teeth on the computer from various angles. This helps your orthodontist better evaluate your child’s problem areas and come up with a faster and more comprehensive, accurate solution.
